Data

Context

The complexity of need is very high. Almost 70% of children are entitled to Pupil Premium. Many children are disadvantaged through more than one indicator. A child is more likely to be FSM and SEND and also receiving support through social services, multi-agency or school pastoral teams whilst living in significantly challenging circumstances than not.

When compared to starting point on entry to Foundation Stage our children's progress is stong.

How well are children achieving when they enter the school?

The British Picture Vocabulary Score is an assessment of children’s language on entry to the school in Foundation Stage. Language deprivation is increasing for cohorts entering the school with the vast majority of pupils significantly below their age expected when they arrive. The expected centile for a child is 50.

How well do children in Y6 achieve? (End of KS2)

Despite the highest number of mainstream EHCP pupils in any cohort over time (28%), combined outcomes at 46% (minus IRU pupils) are the highest achieved since before 2016 (when test expectations changed).

A greater percentage of pupils achieved the Higher Standard in reading, maths and SPaG than in previous years. Only 11% of this cohort were at or above 50th for BPVS (ARE) when entering the school in Foundation Stage. Despite these very low starting points, 17% of the cohort went on to achieve the higher score in reading in Year 6.

Non SEND pupils' (69% of which are entitled to pupil premium) combined outcome was above National at 72.8% (Na non SEND: 72.2%)

For disadvantaged pupils (without SEND) attainment is in line with or better than that of the National non-disadvantaged pupil data. In 2025, the combined outcome for this group was 72%.

EAL learners achieved in line or above National in writing and maths compared to other Y6 EAL learners across the country.

Non disadvantaged pupils combined outcome was well above National at 75% (National non FSM: 70%) , Writing 83.3% (moderated) was well above National (National Non FSM :79%), Maths was significantly above National at 91.7% (National Non FSM: 81%)
